Physical description | Carved mother of pearl relief of a Cherub head, probably the handle piece of a baptismal spoon. The head of the Cherub looks left with the wings extended towards the ends of a pointed oval. An inscription on the lower part of the surrounding border reads 'GLORIA IN EXCELSIS DEO'. At the top is a pierced drop shaped projection on a small base. The relief is thick and convex, at the back a ridge of shell is left below the projection. |
