Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
This gold ring with its foliage decoration and cabochon gemstones is unmarked, but it was probably made in the United States, perhaps by one of the goldsmiths working in Boston in the Arts and Crafts tradition. Following a successful exhibition, the Society of Arts and Crafts was incorporated in Boston in 1897. Among the leading makers were Frank Gardiner Hale and Edward Everett Oakes who are represented in the V&A collections (M.6 and M.7-1988).
