Brief description | Cabinet, French, 1800-1900, 18th century style |
Physical description | A cabinet of tulip wood veneer, inlaid with floral patterns and trophies of musical instruments. Ormolu mounts. Lower stage with cabriole legs and two drawers, upper stage has two small drawers and two doors enclosing compartment with one shelf. French 19th century in the style of the 18th century. Pine on the whole of the back which is stained inside and outside, and polished inside to look like mahogany. The drawer backs and fronts are pine, drawer sides and bottoms are oak, with tulipwood veneering on the front of the shelf on the upper half. |
