This poster was ostensibly advertising an exhibition of work by the artist Péter Stefanovits, but Pócs used it as a vehicle to convey his image of the weakening Communist regime and expressed his personal view of the inherently doomed nature of utopian ideals. He used the red star of Communism in many of his posters, in each it takes on a different texture or aspect, revealing it as weak, decaying or trapped. The question mark after his signature impled his belief that the end was imminent, in 1988 or 1989. In the event, democratic multi-part elections were held in March 1990.
